The Preacher says, “The wisdom of the framers of the United States Constitution is consistent with the lessons of the Bible. Instruments of defense should be dispersed throughout the nation, not concentrated in the hands of the central government. In a Godly country, righteousness governs each man through the Holy Spirit working within him. The government has no cause to want a monopoly of force. The government that desires such a monopoly is a threat to the lives, liberty, and property of its citizens! The assumption on the part of government officials that only danger can result from people carrying guns is a fallacy, and a lame excuse, used to justify the government’s having a monopoly of force to use against its people.” The GunSmith says, “Making the decision to maintain a defensive firearm is not always an easy decision. As stated above, you must have the knowledge, ability and attitude to safely and effectively maintain, and use, a defensive firearm. Are you willing to commit to the practice required? Are you able to perform as well under stress as at the range? Can you function effectively with little or no light present? Are you mentally prepared to use deadly force against another person, and the subsequent consequences? Do you have a practical knowledge of when you can or should use deadly force? Are you willing to seriously plan now for what may come in the future? The law enforcement community is not in place to defend every person 24 / 7. Police officers are responders; responding to incidents that have already occurred, or at best, have been initiated. For the most part, that leaves each person to protect him or her self. One of the best tools for self protection can be the firearm. A firearm is not possessed to seek opportunity for use, but rather to have readily available should use be NECESSARY. The decision to carry a firearm is a decision to take on a tremendous responsibility.” Gilbert Independent Baptist Church really is a Bible Believing Church. We believe the King James Bible is God’s operations and technical manual on life. (Yes, which “Bible” you use does make a difference!) As such, we are learning it, and learning to live it. We want to share it with others, too! May this effort be a blessing to you. Pastor R.S. Brewer
